Edelweiss has the perfect destination to fulfil all your holiday dreams – whether you want to indulge in a relaxing beach holiday, visit a bustling city or explore a different culture.
Feel on holiday at home? Edelweiss shows you how! Since 2016, Switzerland's leading leisure travel airline has been naming its aircraft after the regions in which the edelweiss grows. By the end of the year, 15 aircraft will bear the names of Swiss regions where the edelweiss really grows, from "Corvatsch", "Melchsee-Frutt" and "Belalp" to "Kaiseregg". To symbolise the partnership, a wooden Edelweiss bench will now take pride of place at the best viewpoints in each region.

The desire to see beyond the limits of the naked eye and into the far distance is as old as humanity itself. The earliest lens systems were built by the astronomers Galileo in Italy and Kepler in Austria. Binocular optics are based to this day on Kepler's invention from 1611. Binoculars made the age-old human dream of achieving a near god-like power of vision a reality.
